Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) is insurance for the employees in the case of unemployment, maternity, adoption or illness leave. The company must be registered for UIF with the Department of Labour.
Uif Registration is required for all businesses that have staff memebers employed to the company.
It is compusolry for all businesses to register for UIF once the first employee starts their Job and received their employment contract.
In order to register for UIF, the following documents and information is required:
• CC/Company documents
• Certified ID Copies of member(s)/director(s)
• Nature of Business/Activities
• PAYE Number (if applicable)
• ID copies of employee/s
• Employee/s gross salary
• Commencement date of employment of employee/s
This Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) application process takes 10-15 working days. The process could take longer if there are any delays due to system errors or workload with the Department of Labour.
Once the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) application is complete, you will receive the following:
• A UIF reference number
